I got just got a little help cutting through my duct work in two places to shut off the rooms, but I'm severely disabled, that I either don't use at night or during the day and began saving a big chunk after having already made my own insulation for my attic to double what had already been doubled. Don't throw boxes away. Fill them with paper, cover the top of the paper with old cleaned tin foil and you'll be cone-head proof to boot. For the duct valve, I cut out two pieces of wood depending on how much air you want to block but if you have the space, you can move the valve in and out of the duct work, maybe because to hold it in in my case, I had to wrap more insulation around the valve at a certain point so it would snug into the hole and stay reasonably air tight, a homemade gasket. I cut a handle into each as well and covered them with plastic, joined with duct tape, to keep them clean. Using this method, you are stuck with the amount of blockage the extra gasket placement gives you unless you can figure in an adjustable gasket or one that rests on the duct work and can tighten when you slide the valve in and out. Where the valve sticks out of the drywall, I made another piece of insulation to hold the valve in place between the valve and the 2x4 or drywall (whichever it presses upon) so the valve does not swing too much from the forced air. Only cut the holes as wide as is necessary in the duct work and drywall to avoid as much natural valve swinging and air escape as possible because that will just let more air through to the rooms you are cutting off if the valves move to a greater angle while the furnace is running. Where mine are, I can't drive screws into the duct to make a more eye-pleasing unit to stop the valve from moving to an angle too much.

I shut my heat off completely at night. When I get to my smoothie quality chilled bed, I quickly heat it with a blow dryer. It feels so good, my feet get warm and stay that way all night, a big change, and I sleep better in a cool room. The most it's gone down to is between 55 and 57 degrees (around Pittsburgh - elevation about 908). It might help you learn how to eat and drink better. If it's doable for a severely disabled person that has always warn extra clothes, most people can deal. My grandmother constantly used to tell me to take my coat off and it wasn't a coat either.

11/23/22 Caste systems in response to Google cancelling Thenmozhi Soundararajana as a visitor speaker (youtube'd it). There is a really good way to deal with castes, beginning with Wall Street, we must reprioritize economic factors to include things like population and poverty indexes and environment changes so all people are forced to make the best decisions as opposed to self-interest only or mostly. Economic factors and wall street are the key players to change immediately to save us, democracy, and the environment without compromising wealth but definitely compromising their control over the unprivileged’s votes and popular opinions. Without health and wealth there is no freedom. Filibusters should revolve around the health and welfare of all people and the environment not the street's current cherry-picked ones that create two distinct groups, privileged and unprivileged and they should be the daily trend in toilet-cluster busters (filibusters) and it should begin where most of us begin our day whether in spirit, mind, body or some combination, on wall street.
